The Occupational Health Nurse is responsible for providing an efficient Occupational Health Service for client employees and compliance with all relevant statutory requirements.

Key Outcomes
Execution of Occupational Health Tests

Interpret and record medical surveillance findings and refer medical surveillance findings to Occupational Health Medical Practitioner

Completion of monthly statistics and reports and then feedback to clients

Manage Stock and Supplies

Ensure adequate stock levels are kept and that wastage is limited

Ensure legal compliance and calibration of occupational health equipment

Conducting medical surveillance examinations

Conduct health risk assessments

Document management

Job Requirements:
Qualifications and Accreditation with a Professional Body
B Curr or a Diploma in Nursing
Current registration as Registered Nurse with SANC
Diploma in Occupational Health
SASOHN registration and three years’ experience in an Occupational Health environment is required.
Computer proficiency (MS Word, Excel, Outlook)
Dispensing Licence

Competencies:

Drive and energy, Excellence orientation, Ethical behaviour, Building relationships and networking, Customer relations, Computer Literacy, Verbal and written communication skills
Preferred
Professional Nurse with Certificate in Dispensing, Audiometry and Spirometry
Travel Health qualified
Technical Skills or Knowledge
Certificate in dispensing, audiometry and spirometry
Health risk assessment knowledge
Knowledge of mining legislation and experience in Occupational Healthcare, mining would be an advantage
